The second round of Delphi method to verify agreed European Core Competences Framework (the ECCF) for working with older people is in progress

The two-round Delphi method is used in ELLAN to reach consensus about agreed European Core Competences Framework (the ECCF) for working with older people.

The first round was completed and analyzed in January, 2016. There were altogether 21 experts from 8 countries responding the Delphi. In addition to that, there were 21 researchers filling the questionnaire completely from 18 different countries in Europe. 70% agreement on the importance of the competence and performance indicators was used as criteria in this Delphi. As a brief review from the first Delphi round, we can say that there is a very much consensus about the competences and the performance indicators in the becoming EFFC. However, based on the respondents comments couple of performance indicators were added for the second round. Those insertions were related for instance to assessment of physical functioning and wellbeing or coaching competence. Also those items with a lower level of consensus than 70% (from the first Delphi round) were included for the second round.

So very soon the European Core Competences Framework for working with older people is ascertained and the process of its translation into each partner country language and steps to implement it will take place.
